Haven
House

Project Details
Haven House.
Haven House explores the balance between openness and retreat on a site positioned within the acoustic reach of John Wayne Airport while remaining embedded in the luxury residential fabric of Newport Beach.
The project responds through a series of spatial and acoustic strategies that preserve transparency, natural light, and indoor-outdoor continuity without compromising privacy or comfort.
A central entrance void framed by expansive openings establishes visual permeability across the ground floor, while carefully positioned glazing—including clerestory windows above the kitchen cabinetry and a second-floor family lounge framed by full-height openings on opposing sides—amplifies daylight and spatial volume throughout the residence.
Concealed functional elements, including an integrated laundry space hidden within the kitchen millwork, reinforce the project’s minimalist architectural language and spatial clarity.
Rather than isolating the home from its context, the design transforms a challenging acoustic condition into an architecture of calm, light, and retreat.
